Chastian “Choose” Taurman III received the MBA degree from Tulane’s A.B. Freeman Graduate School of Business and subsequently worked in the oil and gas, manufacturing, and real estate industries. Subsequently, he rejoined the Freeman School as an Assistant Dean. Mr. Taurman then joined DigiCourse of New Orleans, which sold its products nationally and internationally. In 1984, Choose co-founded SIA, providing factory and plant automation across the South. When SIA was sold, Taurman returned to Tulane in the School of Continuing Studies, where he worked as Director of Business Studies for part-time students and managed the Real Estate education department at that school. After Katrina, Taurman began working with Clayton White advising fast-growth companies on raising equity capital. Their efforts revealed a need for startup equity to support thr growing entrepreneur community in Louisiana and they founded South Coast Angel Fund.
